I have been searching the forums and I have come to the conclusion that I want to replace my low beam headlights with LED Bulbs on my 2015 Colorado. I have read everything on here about LED's vs HID's and it seems to me that the HID's are more difficult to install and have had some issues with them. I am looking for a LED Bulb to swap out the factory bulbs to brighten up my night driving. I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations for which LED bulbs to get, and how long do they usually last before they burn out. Any information will be helpful. Thank You in advance!

Check out the "swapped opti7 for cyclops led" thread. There's a YouTube link with a led shootout. Looks like the GTR lighting v3s are the best, but they run $200 a set.

IMHO...When it comes to choose the LED headlight bulb for your ride.
It's almost a crap shoot game.
There is no one size fits all and very much it's a "each of his own" deal.
One claims it works best for him but a lot of time not for the others as I've been finding out on this very forum.
I myself have gone thru a few myself and the trial phase is still in the work.
Regardless what you might end up with.
Please post it here and share your experience with us.

I went through a lot of LED'ds for my low beams and wound up with the Morimoto 2 strokes. Liked them so much I ordered them for my Hi beams as well. More than happy with both. Easy to install and The Retrofit Source is extremely helpful with ordering and any questions you may have. Good Luck!!!

I went with JDM Astar from amazon for both the low beams and fog lights. I also read the forums and reviews and for every person that hated led someone loved them. So I went to amazon and spent $50 for the headlights bulbs and $20 for the fog light bulbs. I figured if I didn't like them ehh it was only $70. I couldn't recommend them more, plug and play no bullshit really bright. If your on the fence like I was just do it definitely worth it.

What do you recommend for the hi beams? I have DDM Tuning HID's for my lows, JDM Astar LED for the fogs. Need something but seems like i cant find a good product for the highs. Thanks!

I ended up installing the Sylvania ZXE xenon filled halogen bulbs. They are the brightest halogen bulb that sylvania makes. After installing them on both the high beams and the low beams I took it for a test drive at night and man what a difference. They were plug and play so
they were easy to install. They are also guaranteed for 1 year from purchase, so if they go out i will just take them back to advanced auto. Overall I am very happy with them for down the road vision. The only downfall is I don't expect to get much more then a year out of them before I have to replace them.

How close do the lights match? Or do they look the same?

Pics would be great too if you have?

Thanks!

I wonder how did this truck pass NHTSA headlight test with the stock reflectors. You are literary living in the "dark ages" with the stock bulbs.
I went with OPT7 and have been happy ever since. Plug and play, plenty of reviews on Amazon. My advise is, you get what you pay for. Buy cheap bulbs, you will get cheap light.

If you can't find them let me know. I'll send the links

Yes, I would like the links or at least the exact LED model number. It seems there are a few or maybe copy cats.

In preparation, I've modded the factory dust covers to allow for more room and cooling.
